With June just around the corner, Winter is about to ‘officially’ hit and that means two things…

  1. We are excited to announce our JUNE RELEASE is just about here!
  2. 2019 is already halfway through… *GASP*

In this post, we thought we’d take the time before things get cold and crazy to look into some of the upcoming events and exhibits we are excited about:

1 | Denfair 2019 | Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre | 20th June – 22nd June

This is Australia’s leading destination of contemporary design for professionals. This event has quickly become the ultimate collaborative HUB for hundreds of local and international brands with a love and passion for design.

2 | Super Expo 2019 | Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre | 12th June – 14th June

This industry trade show is an inspiring display of the latest fabrics, textiles, hardware, components and equipment for window furnishings and specialised textiles industries. If you are heading down make sure you come say hi! Warwick Fabrics will be there on Stand No: D332

3 | The Archibald, Wynne and Sulman Prize 2019 | Art Gallery of NSW | 11th May – 08th September

These are the most prestigious Australian art awards presented to the best portrait, landscape and subject paintings from across the country. You can visit the exhibition and vote in the ANZ Peoples Choice Awards which close on the 11th August so be sure to get in quick!

4 | Mirka for Melbourne | Heide Museum of Modern Art | 16th April – 25th August

This exhibition is a little insight into the colourful world and life of French-born Australian artist Mirka Mora. The Heide Museum was able to purchase an exquisite selection of Mirka’s artworks, creative tools, art materials, furniture and personal effects for the Museum’s collection – continuing her legacy in a tangible way for generations to come.

5 | Ramsey Art Prize 2019 | AGSA Art Gallery of South Australia | 25th May – 25th August

This exhibition showcases a spectacular array of artworks from artists under 40 working in their chosen medium – presenting a cornucopia of inspiration and Australian art. A must see!

6 | Décor and Design 2019 | Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre | 18th July – 21st July

With its 16th year running, take the opportunity to get inspired at Australians No.1 interiors event – Design & Decor. See the latest from interior design, decorators, architects, furniture and furnishings – learning about the latest trends and developments in these industries. Take the time to network with professionals and dive deeper with a full program of design talks and workshops across the events days. If you are heading to Décor & Design, make sure you come and say hi to our team! We will see you on Stand No: F36

7 | Journeys in Textiles | Australian House & Garden Seminar Theatre, Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre | 19th July

Our very own Warwick Fabrics Design Manager Luciana Wallis will be joined alongside the fantastic Tigger Hall from Tigger Hall Design during Décor & Design for a special talk about textiles. Exploring the stories behind our fabrics – covering everything from Australian innovation, design inspiration, fabric trends and product development. Make sure you get your ticket ASAP!

8 | Monet: Impression Sunrise | National Gallery of Australia, Canberra | 7th June – 1st September

This exhibit showcases a selection of ‘Impressionist’ artists from across the globe with works from Claude Monet – the master of ‘Impressionism’ himself. A definite must for lovers of this creative style.

9 | The National 2019: New Australian Art | Art Gallery of NSW | On now until 21st July

The Art Gallery of NSW, Carriageworks & Museum of Contemporary Art have come together to celebrate Australian contemporary art. With 70 artists work on display, this exhibition has everything from painting, photography, sculpture, installations, video and more. I’m sure there is something for everyone.

10 | Alexander Calder: Radical Inventor | NGV National Gallery of Victoria | On now until 4th August

This exhibition presents approximately 100 sculptural and pictorial pieces from renowned American artist Alexander Calder. Drawn from private and museum collections across America, his work embrace abstract, expressionism, modern and kinetic forms that helped change the course of modern art as we know it. This collection showcases his epic career unifying all things from colour, shape, form and movement.

11 | Warwick Fabrics Perth Showroom | 274 Newcastle Street, Perth | Open NOW

We are also extremely excited to announce our brand new Perth Showroom is officially open, functioning and in full swing! If you are in the neighbourhood make sure you pop in and say HI!
